My grandfather Percy Othnile Burrows met my grandmother Oma Jenkins at the age of 17 in Davis,Oklahoma, in 1930, and got married.

There they had their first child. Earl Lewis B: December 1931

Then they moved from Davis Oklahoma, to Shawnee where they had several more children.

Last Rites for Percy O. Burrows This Afternoon In Comforter Chapel.

Funeal Services Will be held this afternoon at 2:00 from the Comforter
Funeral Home Chapel for Percy O. Burrows age 61 who Passed away
Sunday Evening in the Munticipal Hospital.
Mr. Burrows had been a long time rersident of Highland View, services,
will be conducted by the Rev. William N. Stephens, Assistant Res. Clayton
Wilkingson.
Interment will be in the Holly Hill Cemetary. Burrows is Survived by
four sons Earl L. Burrows of Norton Air Force Base Cailf. Johnny T.
Burrows of Panama City, Raymond and Willie Burrows both of Highland View ;
one daughter Katie Frances Mangum of Germany.
He had 16 Grand Children. Four Brothers Roy, Alpha, Forest Burrows
of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Earnest Burrows from three sisters Ms. Pauline Copeland of Shawnee,
Mrs. Stella Mabee of Emporia, Kansas, and
Mrs. Mable Smith of shawnee, Oklahoma.
Former wife Mrs. Oma Burrows and Mother In Law Kate Jenkins.

Comforter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.



This is my Grandmother Oma Jenkins Burrows,my uncle said he had
documents actually saying her name was Bytha Elizabeth Jenkins.

Wednesday 22 July 1998

Mrs. Oma Burrows of Highland View passed away Monday 20 July 1998
at the Gulf Pines Hospital following an extended illness. She was a
native of Oklahoma, and long time resident of Gulf county.
She had worked as a dietitian for Municipal Hospital and later worked
for the Gulf County Sheriff's Department.
Survivors include her children, Earl Burrows of Overstreet, Johnny
Burrows, Katie Mangum, Raymond Burrows and Willie Burrows all of
Highland View, 47 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. EDT today July 22, 1998 at
Oak Grove Assembly of God, conducted by the Rev. Dave Fernandez
and Judson Waldrop.
Grandson will be pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Holly Hill
Cemetery.
She will lie in state at the funeral home this mo rning and at the church
for one hour prior to services.

HARVEY JEAN BURROWS

Harvey Jean Burrows, 21 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Burrows 1132 West Wallace Street died of
diphtheria at the family home at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. The baby had been ill for two days. Surviving relatives are the parents who have lived in Shawnee for 23 years;
Earl Lewis Burrows and Johnnie Burrows; and one sister Katie Frances Burrows; all of the family residence.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Gaskill's.

JOHNNY T. BURROWS

Mr. Johnny T. Burrows 68 of Highlandview,
passed away Sunday,9 of June 2002 in Highlandview. A native of
Oklahoma, he had been a resident of Highland View for the past 35
years. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and had worked for Arizona
Chemical.
Survivors include his children,Tammy Burrows of Plant City,Thomas
Wayne Chavous of Highlandview,Diane King of Highland View, Jennie
Nix of Perry, and Janet Chavous of Raleigh, North Carolina; eight
grandchildren; three brothers Earl Burrows of Overstreet, Raymond Burrows and
Willie Burrows both of Highland View; and one sister Katie Mangum
of Highland View; also a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EDT Tuesday,
11 June 2002, at the Highland View Baptist Church, conducted
by the Rev. David Fernandez. Interment will follow in the
family plot in Holly Hill Cemetery.
He will lie in state at the comforter Funeral Home from 5 to 7p.m.
today and at the church for an hour before the funeral on Tuesday.
Those who wish may make a donation in his memory to the American
Cancer Society.

Katie Frances Mangum

Mrs. Katie Frances Mangum 71 of Highland view, passed away
Sunday 24 December 2006, at her home with her family by her side
A native of Oklahoma, she was a long time resident of Highland View
and was also a long time member of Highland View Baptist Church
She was a loving mother and good wife.
Mrs Mangum was preceded in death by her parents Percy and
Oma Burrows and a brother Johnny Burrows.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Mangum of Highland View, her
children, Tommy Mangum and wife Cindy of Ceder Springs Georgia,
Linda Welch and husband Vicky of Highland View, Julie Hedberg
and husband Christer of Stockholm, Sweden, Tina Ryan and husband
Patrick of Woodbridge, Virginia, Harold Mangum and wife Cindy of
Callaway; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three
brothers, Raymond Burrows of Highland View, Earl Burrows of
of Overstreet, Willie Burrows of White City.
The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. EST Wednesday,
26 December, at the Highland View Baptist Church, conducted
the Rev. Mike Westbrook. Interment followed in the family
plot in Holly Hill Cemetery. She laid in state at the church
from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 26 December and prior
to the funeral Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may
made in her memory to the Highland view Baptist Church,
382 Ling Street, Port St. Joe, Florida 32456.

All services were under the diretion of the Comforter
Funeral Home.
