In 1889 at the age of 25 Samuel married Eliza Lee Hunter, daughter of William Peter and
Elizabeth Jane (Beatty) Hunter. When they were found in the 1900 census they were living in the small town of Mineral Wells,Texas,with four of their children;
Eula Lee,Samuel Harvey,Pansy Viola, and Joseph Ira. Eliza older sister Lizzie Mahurin and her two small children were living with them
at the time.Samuel and Eliza proceeded to add three more children to the family after 1900 census. Jessie Oscar,Charlie William, and

in Mineral Well at the same time.
Eula Lee,the oldest of Samuel and Eliza was strong willed and rebellious, and Samuel didn't spare the rod. She became Pregnant at 13, and the

later at the age of 42. He is in an unmarked grave, believed to be on the banks of Brazos River, near Mineral Wells, Texas. Many years later,
Nell his youngest daughter, tried to find his grave, but was unable to. It's believed to be in the general area of the Indian Creek Cemetery.
After Samuel's Death, tradgedy followed the McKee's. At only 35 Eliza had to raise her seven children and a new grandchild. Nellie her youngest
was two at the time. How she feed them heaven only knows, but it is very possible that she moved to her family, the Hunters, near Happy Hollows
a small community in Eastland County,Texas.
Eliza's brothers Joe and Will Hunter were considered well off for that period in time, and Joe's wife Melissa, died in 1901 leaving him to raise their
twelve children. Joe never remarried, so it's hightly probable that Eliza and her mother helped him raise the children. Eliza was not found in the
1910 Census for Palo Pinto Texas but Jessie and Nell were listed at the Tanner Public School in Eastland County in 1915.
Samuel Harvey, the oldest son married Tillie Rouse and had two children, Evelyn and Lester. On June 28th,1922

Viola learned that she had uterine cancer, she sent a letter to her younger sister, Nell, and pleaded for her to come and stay with her. She
told Nell " that she wasn't afraid to die" but that she just wanted one of her sisters to be with her. Nell and daughter, Margie, left immediately
to be with viola during her illness. Eula was ill at the time and Viola's daughter, Lilliam, had married at the age of 14 and had two children to
care for. Neither of them could offer their assistance. Viola died in 1940 at the age of forty four in Pampa,Texas where her brother,
Jessie Oscar, had been killed ten years earlier.
Nellie Bly, the youngest and always considered the beauty of the family, was the last of the siblings. She married Percy Johnson, and they had
one daughter, Marjorie Bly, born in Breckinridge,Texas in 1925. After divorcing Percy, she later
married Elmer Pannell. He died in 1967 and was buried in Camanche,Texas.
Nell was two years older then her nephew, Ted Hall, and she trained him well. One day while Eliza was not home they
decided to make the kitchen pretty for her. They found some baking flour and proceeded to "paint" everything white! Eliza was surprised
alright!!. The two remained as close as brother and sister until Ted's death in 1979. In later years Nell conducted a lot of McKee genealogy
research. She made numerous attempts to locate a marriage certificate for her parents with out success.
Nell kept her looks and her sense of humor right up to her last days. In a letter sent to Otilla, Ted Hall's wife, she used her brother Charlie's
favorite expression " not on your ass!" According to Nell when Speaking of Rouse family, they were always referred to as "those damn Rouses!".
