Alpha Clifford Burrows

Longtime railroad and city worker Alpha Clifford Burrows died Tuesday at his Shawnee residence. He was 86.
He was born April 14th, 1910, in Savory, Kansas, to Lewis and Ida Burrows. He moved to Shawnee in 1915 when he was 5.
He married Marie Lambert on November 5, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Burrows worked for the Rock Island Railroad from 1926 to 1945, and for the City of Shawnee from 1945 up till 1972 (until his retirement.)
He was a member of the Johnson Church of God.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-laws, alma and Alan States of Prague, Nancy and Jim Brown of Shawnee, Joann and Gene Fischer of
Jerome, Idaho; a son Jerry C Burrows of Mulberry, Arkansas; a stepson Bill Quinn of Scaramento, Califorina, a sister, Mable Smith of Shawnee,
20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife Marie M. Burrows, in 1995; a son Charles A. Burrows, six brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Church of God with Rev Charles Higgens and Chapalin Steve Martin officating. Burial will be in
Resthaven Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Marie Burrows

A Shawnee resident for the past 56 years, Marie M. Burrows died in a local hospital. She was 75. The Shawnee homemaker was born
March 4, 1920 in Cothren, Arkansas, to W.F. and Olivia (Hillhouse) Lambert.
She married Alpha C. Burrows on November 5, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and was a member of the Family Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Burrows. Survivers include her husband Alpha C. Burrows, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law
Alma and Alan J. States of Prague, Joann A. and Gene Ficher of Jerome, Idaho, Nancy C. and James Brown of Shawnee, two sons and one daughter-in-law
Bill and Alice Quinn of Sacramento, Califorina, Jerry C Burrows of Mulberry, Arkansas, a sister Ruth Thomas of Ceasar, Califorina; two brothers
Leon Lambert of Sapulpa, Bill Lambert of South Carolina; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Johnson Church of God with Rev. Charles Higgins, and the Rev. Kenneth Curless officating. Burial will be at Resthaven
Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Graveside services for former Shawnee resident Charles Alpha Burrows
46, of Mulberry Arkansas are set for 2. p. m. Thursday at the Oak Bower
Cemetery, North of Mulberry.
He died sunday October 30, at his home. Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren
Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born April 19, 1942 in Shawnee to Alpha and Marie Burrows
of Shawnee. He moved to Arkansas this year. Burrows was self employed
at the time of his death, and was a employee for the City of Shawnee in the
water department.
Survivers include his wife Ann Burrows, of the home; three daughters, Shelly,
Fort Smith, Margurette, Shawnee, and Cathy, Mulberry; a son, Eugene Bowers.
Earlsboro; Alma Jean States, Prague, and Joan Fischer, Jerome, Idaho; two
brothers Bill Quinn, Sacramento, Califorina, and Jerry Burrows, Mulberry,
and one grandchild.

Jerry Burrows

Died October 14, 2001.

Former Shawnee resident Jerry C. Burrows of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Sunday, he was 60.
He was born April 12, 1941 to Alpha and Marie Burrows. Burrows was married to Pauline the
past four years. He was a former employee of Royer Electric.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Charles Burrows and Bill Quinn.
Surviving are his wife of home; four sons, Gerald, Clifford, Roger and Jerod; two daughters
Debbie and Nina all of Fort Smith Arkansas,three sisters, Nancy Brown, and Alma States, both
of Shawnee, and Jean Fischer of Jerome, Idaho.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas 4817 Kelly
Highway, Fort Smith, AK.72941
